3/8/2010 A Lenten Luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City.  Bell choir will practice Sunday after the Lenten Luncheon. Lenten Bible Study continues each Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
2/22/2010  A Lenten Luncheon will follow the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 east Main St., Evans City.  The annual Spaghetti Dinner will be served Saturday from 4-7 p.m. in St. John's Fellowship Hall. Donation is $ 7 adults, $ 5 children, with children 3 and under eating free. Takeouts will be available. Consistory will have its March meeting Monday March 1 at 7 p.m. in the Narthex.  Bell choir will rehearse Sunday after the Lenten Luncheon.

1/11/2010  Last week's Called to Care meeting has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. tonight(Thursday)  at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City.  Outreach Committee will have its first meeting of the new year at 7 p.m. Tuesday January 19.  Newsletter assembly has be rescheduled for 9 a.m. Friday January 22.

12/3/2009 The Promise of Light," a Christmas Cantata by Joel Raney, will be performed Saturday  Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Sunday Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at  St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City.  The Jammers youth group will hold their Christmas Party  Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Communion will be served during both worship services this  Second Sunday in Advent.

The First Sunday of Advent will be marked by Holy Communion  and special music at the 8:35 and 11 a.m. services of St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City.  There will be a potluck luncheon following the 11 a.m. worship service and then the Hanging of The Greens. Members are asked to bring their favorite salad, casserole or dessert to share at the luncheon. Rehearsal for the Christmas Cantata will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

11/2/2009  St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City, will have its  annual congregational meeting at 10:30 a.m. Sunday  to consider the 2010 budget and  by-laws revision.  The Craig Dobbins Organ Concert will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday  and will conclude with refreshments in the Narthex. Bell practice will be held Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

10/26/2009  St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City, will celebrate All Saint's Day Sunday with Holy Communion and Lighting of Candles at  both the 8:35 and 11 a.m. worship services.  Consistory meeting for November has been moved to Tuesday Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. Bible Study continues to meet at 9 a.m. each Thursday morning in the church library.

10/12/2009  St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City, will hold a special congregational meeting Sunday between services at 10 a.m.  The Constitution and Bylaws Committee will present their report on revisions at that time. Fall Bible Study continues meeting at 9 a.m. each Thursday.  Christian Education committee meets at 6 p.m.  Monday  October 19 followed by People Praise Planning Team at 7 p.m.  Stewardship and Hospitality meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.  Plans are being finalized to celebrate St. John's 160th. Anniversary Sunday October 25.
 
9/14/2009   St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City will have a special meeting of the Constitution and Bylaws committee tonight (Thurs,) at 7 p.m. in the Narthex.  This Sunday a Confirmation Orientation will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Classroom 201. It is for all youth in seventh grade and up, their parents and mentors . The annual Rummage Sale runs  Thursday through noon Saturday in St. John's downstairs fellowship hall. Rummage Sale hours Friday are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
9/8/2009  Fall worship begins Sunday with Rally Day kickoff at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 East Main St., Evans City.  Rally Day starts with 8:30 a.m. contemporary worship service, followed  by breakfast and introduction and installation of Sunday School teachers at 9:30 a.m.   A traditional worship service begins at 11 a.m. followed by Rally Day luncheon in the fellowship hall.  St. John's is still accepting donations for its annual rummage sale scheduled for Sept. 17-19. Consistory meets Monday at 7 p.m. in the Narthex.
