Chili and Pie Cookoff...
Winners of the August 15, 2004 St. John’s Chili and Pie Cookoff were announced before Sunday Service on August 22, 2004. Guy “Chili King” Furman took top honors in the chili contest with his Hunter’s Chili, while Ada “Pie Queen” Spithaler took top honors in the pie contest with her Apple Pecan Upside-down Pie. The real winners, however, were the judges and congregation of St. John’s who sampled all the wonderful chili and pies entered. A big “Thank You” goes out to everyone who participated in the event.
